The Leo Reddy Career Readiness Award annually recognizes K-12 schools and community colleges that implement exemplary career readiness systems aligned to the CCD Center's Five Pillar Solution Framework

What is the Leo Reddy Career Readiness Award?

Named in honor of the CCD Center’s founder Leo Reddy, the annual Leo Reddy Career Readiness Award recognizes a K-12 school or community college that exemplifies excellence in career development and demonstrates leadership in preparing students for successful careers. The award is designed to elevate “career ready” schools, particularly public schools and those that primarily serve low-income students, that embrace the CCD Center’s Five Pillar Solution Framework and foster a national consensus that career readiness is the first priority of American education. 

When is the application deadline?

The deadline to submit a nomination is December 20.

Who can submit a nomination?

Industry professionals and CCD Center partners (i.e., Board and Advisory Council members, State Leaders Network members, and supporters) can nominate a K-12 school or community college. Nominators share how the school integrates the five pillars into their education system to prepare ALL learners for meaningful and productive employment. 

What does the Leo Reddy Career Readiness Award recipient receive?

The awarded school will receive national recognition and $10,000 to further its career readiness program, in addition to the Leo Reddy Career Readiness Award digital badge for use in print and online promotional materials.

Who reviews the Leo Reddy Career Readiness Award applications?

Applications are reviewed by members of the CCD Center's Board and Advisory Council, State Leaders Career Development Network, and partner organizations who did not submit a nomination. These experts will evaluate how well the nominated schools have implemented the five pillars to drive student success in career development.

​To validate school practices, representatives from the review committee will conduct a site visit during February and March to assess the school’s implementation of the five pillar framework.

When will the Leo Reddy Career Readiness Award winner be announced?

The CCD Center will select and announce the winning school in March/April. The winner will receive the award and $10,000 at an annual award ceremony in May/June.

Is there a fee to submit a nomination for the Leo Reddy Career Readiness Award?

Participation is free; there are no costs associated with applying for the Leo Reddy Career Readiness Award.
