Quality Assurance Guidelines For National Industry Certification Bodies

Quality Industry Certifications

In its emphasis on applied and work-based learning, the CCD Center 2019 White Paper, Career Readiness for All, encourages all students to, “earn high quality, industry-recognized certifications where available.” Learners need to understand what career pathways that industry offers, and to what extent industry certifications can lead them to fulfill their career choices.

The purpose of this industry-led Committee is to establish high-quality assurance standards for industry-recognized certification programs. Given the CCD Center’s strong focus on enhanced career advisement, a major goal and first priority of the committee is to produce clear and rigorous industry guidelines for helping professional career advisors and counselors in every school to be effective in assisting students in choosing those industry-recognized credentials that will be most effective in enhancing their personalized career and academic plans. These guidelines will also help inform public policy and actions by key stakeholders: industry, education, and government at both federal and state levels.
